My favorite thing about Modest Mouse is The Helio Sequence

I try not to post bands that get millions of plays or artists that are on major labels, but Sub Pop wont do nobody wrong. The Helio Sequence was formed in Oregon in '99. Benjamin Weikel, a past member of Modest Mouse and Brandon Summers comprise this duo. This song is just awesome:

I read an interview in Tape Op Magazine with Brendan Benson from The Raconteurs. The same issue had a great interview with Jack White from the White Stripes/Deadweather/The Raconteurs. I had already decided that although Jack White has never tickled my ears I thought that The Raconteurs was his best collaboration. After reading the interviews I figured that the reason Jack White reached a new place must have been because of Brendan Benson. I thought I would stick with the theme of the post and say something about how my favorite part about Jack White is Brendan Benson but that turns out simply to be false, so...

Robot and a Girl

Straight out the U.K. on a Friday, Saint Savior caught my attention with how purely emotional her songs are. I listened to Hurricanes and then went hunting for something just right. This song Fallen Trees has a good video. It is for those of us who appreciate experiencing art and learning something personal about the artist. I like the things about Saint Savior that I do about Cocorosie and Bjork. The majority of my recent listening has been inspired by harmonic ingenuity, synthesizers and lyrical brainwashing - This music is a welcomed escape.

Martin Wheeler is an electronic music producer and self-proclaimed 'indie game designer'. I was thinking about how most musicians are conflicted people - Great music comes from prolific dichotomy. I really found some conversation happening today between the organic and the digital. Maybe martin could explain that to me in math.
